High pollution exposure in pregnancy raises autism risk in offspring

Research showed women with high air pollution exposure during pregnancy had double the odds of having a child with autism spectrum disorder. High smog exposure during the third trimester of pregnancy was especially associated with greater autism risk in offspring, researchers wrote in Environmental Health Perspectives.  HealthDay News (12/18)
