Higher DHA levels may reduce Alzheimer's risk, study says

Data from the Framingham Offspring Cohort found that those with the highest level of docosahexaenoic acid in red blood cell tissue had a 49% reduced risk of incident Alzheimer's disease than the those with the lowest level, according to a study published in the journal Nutrients. Additional DHA intake may lower Alzheimer's risk, particularly for those who carry the APOE-e4 gene, researchers said.
