Agencies set vaccine goals amid World Immunization Week

The ongoing pandemic continues to disrupt routine vaccinations against diseases like measles, yellow fever and polio in many countries, putting millions of people -- particularly children -- at risk of contracting life-threatening illnesses, experts with the World Health Organization, UNICEF and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, advise. The group set a goal of reducing the number of unvaccinated children worldwide by 50% this decade as it marked World Immunization Week.
