Panel shares ideas for improving preclinical research


An NIH advisory group outlined recommendations for improving translation of animal research findings by boosting the rigor of research and asking scientists to explain their choice of models for NIH-funded studies. The report also suggests exploring the idea of asking scientists to share research methods prospectively, but working group co-chairs Lawrence Tabak and Barbara Wold say they recommend the idea be studied first.
