Holiday hazards for pets: Table scraps, foil, bones


Veterinarian Reed Stevens says foil, cooking string and bones are unintentional hazards for pets, while giving pets table scraps is an intentional hazard that should be avoided, especially now, when veterinary clinics are overburdened. Medications to prevent flea, tick and worm infestations should be continued throughout the winter, Dr. Stevens says.
