Minn. turkey farm quarantined for low-risk avian influenza


A low pathogenic strain of avian influenza was detected through routine testing in a commercial turkey flock in Kandiyohi County, Minn., according to the state Board of Animal Health. The farm has been quarantined, birds at nearby farms will also be tested, and health officials say the strain does not threaten humans or affect food safety.
