Minn. deer farmers push back against CWD mitigation order


The Minnesota Board of Animal Health says 143 deer at nine deer farms should be killed and tested for chronic wasting disease linked to a Beltrami County deer farm that was depopulated and whose owner dumped carcasses outside the farm's boundary. A group of deer farmers has filed a lawsuit to block a state order banning movement of deer, and the state Department of Natural Resources has applied for a USDA grant to test wild deer in the area.
