Pet owners abuzz with concerns about cicadas


Veterinarians in the Mid-Atlantic area have been fielding an onslaught of questions about cicadas from concerned pet owners, but for most pets there is little to worry about. Veterinarian Christine Klippen says cats and dogs likely see the insects as "big flying treats," and as long as pets don't have an allergy to the cicada exoskeleton, they will be fine unless they overindulge and develop mild stomach upset.
