Ferret's birthday is cause for celebration


Staff at a conservation center near Fort Collins, Colo., celebrated an important milestone recently: the first birthday of a female black-footed ferret named Elizabeth Ann cloned from one that died 35 years ago. The birthday means Elizabeth Ann has reached sexual maturity, and kits she has after mating will be released into the wild in an effort to improve the endangered species' genetic diversity.
