India closes tiger reserves to visitors

India's National Tiger Conservation Authority temporarily closed all tiger reserves to visitors after a female Asiatic lion at a zoo died, and other lions at zoos tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. A large proportion of Earth's 4,000 remaining tigers live in reserves in India, and strict conservation and antipoaching policies have begun to reverse decline.
