Smoke, air pollution can harm pets


Wildfire smoke is harmful to any animal and is particularly dangerous to overweight pets and those whose breathing is already impaired, says veterinarian Justin Dahl. Poor air quality also affects pets with heart or lung disease, and veterinarians suggest limiting physical activity, keeping pets cool and ensuring they are well hydrated when air pollutant levels are high.
