Wetlands seen as valuable resource capturing CO2


Draining wetlands is a harmful practice that takes away a vital resource for capturing carbon and reducing the effects of climate change, experts say. While sometimes a complex undertaking, restoring their hydrology can be a powerful way to keep CO2 concentrations in check, according to a new book published by the American Geophysical Union.
