Water quality suffers in Western US as supplies dry up


Worsening heat and drought conditions in the Western US are threatening water quality by "reducing the dilution of contaminants in both surface and ground water," says Anne Castle, a senior fellow at the University of Colorado Law School. The situation is especially problematic because many water systems are already struggling to secure adequate water supplies and improve infrastructure, according to Tim Davis, director of Utah's Division of Drinking Water.
