Analysis: 1 in 4 US hospitals nearing ICU capacity


An analysis of HHS data shows 1 in 4 US hospitals have surpassed their 95% intensive care unit bed capacity, up from 1 in 5 in August, as COVID-19 cases spike amid the spread of the coronavirus Delta variant. Some states have been hit even harder, including Alabama, where all ICU beds are occupied, and Texas, which only has about 700 open ICU beds across the entire state.
