McCarthy HITT avoids material woes on $1.7B NGA project

McCarthy HITT, the design-build contractor for the $1.7 billion National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency western headquarters in St. Louis, has avoided material-escalation costs for the project because of steel purchased before the pandemic, says Jeff Boyer, vice president of operations. The steel skeleton of the structure is going up, and McCarthy HITT still expects to deliver the project in late 2023 or early 2024.
