Conn. lawmakers OK new bottle bill with 10-cent deposit


The Connecticut General Assembly has approved a bill that doubles the state's container deposit to 10 cents and extends it to different ones including tea, coffee, kombucha, juice, sports and energy drinks, as well as plant-infused beverages. The bill also imposes a 5-cent surcharge on single-serving alcohol bottles known as nips.
