Administration allocates $1.5B for health care providers

The federal Nurse Corps, National Health Service Corps and Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery programs are set to receive $1.5 billion in funding from the US government in support of their efforts to encourage more health care providers to work in underserved communities. The funding decision follows a report from the White House's COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force on actions to address systemic inequities in the country's health care system.
