Study focuses on improving CRC screening in rural areas

Researchers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Carbone Cancer Center will interview patients at more than 200 rural primary care clinics in the Midwest to discover the best ways to improve screenings for colorectal cancer. "Our goal is to learn from the clinics that are doing it correctly and doing well and see if we can take their strategies and help disseminate them to lower-performing health care settings that have similar access to resources, similar patient populations," said lead researcher Jennifer Weiss, MD, a gastroenterologist at the cancer center.
