Study: Exposure therapy with ICBT may reduce IBS costs

Exposure therapy during internet based-cognitive behavioral therapy may reduce societal costs for treating patients with irritable bowel syndrome, according to a study led by Hugo Wallen, a PhD student from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and published in BMC Gastroenterology. Exposure therapy also was linked to greater clinical improvement, when compared with patients who did not have it.
