Benefits of CPAP use in CAD, sleep apnea patients


A presentation at the virtual American Thoracic Society International Conference illustrated that CPAP use may help protect some coronary artery disease and nonsleepy obstructive sleep apnea patients against adverse cardiovascular events. Researcher Ali Azarbarzin of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School said that people with a higher heart rate response to sleep apnea events could experience a greater benefit in cardiac outcomes with CPAP therapy.
