Telemedicine could be alternative for lung screening


Researchers from Temple University Hospital found that virtual lung cancer screening appointments may be as effective as in-person visits, according to a study presented during the American College of Surgeons Virtual Clinical Congress. Dr. Cherie Erkmen, a thoracic surgeon at the hospital, observed that they were able to see more Black patients, who are less likely to be screened but have a higher risk of dying from the disease.
