GA-68 PET FAPI shows promise in lung fibrosis detection


PET/CT with gallium-69-labeled fibroblast activation protein inhibitor shows promise as a noninvasive tool for early detection and monitoring of pulmonary fibrosis, according to a mouse study presented at the SNMMI virtual annual meeting. Lead author Carolina de Aguiar Ferreira said Ga-68 FAPI-46 PET could reduce the need for lung biopsies.
