2 models show promise for remote mental health care


Researchers who used tested two models for remote care from psychiatrists and psychologists saw improved access and outcomes for patients with post-traumatic stress disorder and/or bipolar disorder under both models, according to a study published in JAMA Psychiatry. One model used referrals to link patients at federally qualified health centers directly with telepsychiatry or telepsychology specialists at medical schools, while the other integrated those services with primary care at federally qualified health centers.
