Study tallies cost of COVID-19 care for unvaccinated


An analysis of federal data found the US health care system spent about $5.7 billion from June through August on preventable COVID-19 hospitalizations for unvaccinated adults. The study, released by the Kaiser Family Foundation, found there were approximately 287,000 preventable COVID-19 hospitalizations during the three-month period, and the authors warned that the costs could result in greater burdens on taxpayers and higher health insurance premiums.
