Study: PSMA-PET better at identifying recurrent cancer

The results of a study presented during the Radiological Society of North America's annual meeting found that Ga-68 PSMA PET/MR is better than MRI alone at identifying biochemically recurrent prostate cancer. "PSMA PET is a more robust modality for biochemical recurrence with the potential of identifying small lesions which would otherwise be dismissed on MRI alone. We recommend the use of 68Ga PSMA PET/MR for biochemical recurrent prostate cancer with potential to be the new standard of care for this indication," wrote the researchers.
