Rising prices draw Permian gas supplies to Midcontinent


Natural gas flows from the Permian Basin to the US Midcontinent region are up by about 70 million cubic feet per day to more than 720 MMcf/d on average so far this month compared with December, according to S&P Global Platts Analytics. Strong demand due to cold weather lifted spot gas prices at Midcontinent hubs to $4.30 per million British thermal units on Jan. 13, the highest since late November, fueling competition for Permian supplies.
