Oil, gas activity in central US gains momentum


The oil and natural gas economy in the 10th Federal Reserve District expanded in the third quarter, with a gauge of drilling and business activity increasing to 39 from 33 in the second quarter, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas' latest quarterly energy survey. Respondents to the survey were bullish on oil and gas prices, but 60% said they don't expect domestic oil production to return to pre-pandemic levels.
