CDC backs COVID-19 boosters for those at higher risk


The CDC has recommended administration of booster doses with Pfizer/BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine for people ages 65 and older, certain adults with underlying medical conditions, as well those at risk of institutional or occupational exposure, such as teachers. An advisory panel did not recommend boosters for those whose jobs or living conditions put them at higher risk, but CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said the decision will meet public health needs.
