China warns of risk in retail derivatives trading


Retail investors who buy derivatives are bound to suffer the same losses as property investors who think prices will always go up, says Guo Shuqing, chair of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission. Speculation in commodities through derivatives by individual investors "is tantamount to disguised gambling, and their outcome of losses is preordained", Guo says.
