Trade deficit declined in April


The US trade deficit narrowed in April by 8.2% compared with a record-breaking March, according to the Commerce Department, with imports falling to $273.9 billion and exports rising 1.1%, to $205 billion. With supply chain shortages cited as the reason for April's decline, economists expect widening to resume in the months ahead.
