US restaurant hiring slowed in Sept.


Restaurants added just 29,000 of the new US jobs created in September, according to Labor Department data, leaving the industry down about 1 million employees from pre-pandemic levels. "In the face of economy-wide struggles to hire, restaurant employment levels were essentially unchanged between July and September," the National Restaurant Association's Sean Kennedy said.
