Program in Mass. teaches English, digital literacy


The nonprofit MakeIT Haverhill has graduated a class of 14 students who have been participating in a program to help improve their job skills and advance in the workplace by teaching English and computer skills. Students, who speak languages including Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese and Vietnamese, were able to work on their English skills, create their first email accounts, learn some Google programs and will keep the Chromebook computers, accessories and an internet hotspot free for one year.
