FDA, CDC OK Pfizer booster for teens ages 16, 17


The CDC has recommended the administration of Pfizer/BioNTech's COVID-19 booster shot for 16- and 17-year-olds at least six months after they received their second dose, with the recommendation coming just hours after the FDA authorized the use of the booster for the age group. Study results indicated that a booster can confer 95% protection, similar to the initial two-dose series against the virus' original strain.
