CEO says Bayer won't split in wake of J&J, GE breakups


Bayer AG will keep its three main business groups under one umbrella, says CEO Werner Baumann, despite intense investor interest in splitting up similar large companies with diversified business units. Baumann's comments follow Johnson & Johnson's statement last week that it would divide its pharmaceutical and consumer health care sections into two separately traded companies and GE's announcement it would split into three units.
