Anti-tick vaccine shows promise for preventing Lyme disease


A new mRNA vaccine, much like the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, might help fight Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses. The anti-tick vaccine spurs the body to create antibodies against proteins in tick saliva. The result is a rashy, red reaction that provides early warning of a bite, helping to ensure the person quickly removes the parasite.
