Legacy beverage firms growing resistant to acquisitions


Legacy beverage companies are focusing less on acquisitions and more on internal product development and strengthening core brands to spur growth, said Stephen Rannekleiv, global strategist for beverages at Rabobank. "Very few of the small brands acquired have achieved any meaningful scale, and the bloated brand portfolios made it difficult to provide the brands with real growth potential," added Rannekleiv.
