Daniela Seabrook, chief HR officer for Philips, says her background as a clinical psychologist has helped her connect with employees and encourage them to discuss mental health issues, including burnout, depression and anxiety disorders. "The implications of health and well-being became quite clear throughout the pandemic, but they've always had a big impact on how people feel, on whether they can be themselves at work, and ultimately that has a big impact on business outcomes," Seabrook says.
