FAA cuts fuel use with improved aircraft descent processes


The Federal Aviation Administration introduced 42 new "descent profiles" for large airports in 2021 with the aim of decreasing aircraft emissions by improving efficiency. Optimized descents allow aircraft to fly longer at higher altitudes where they burn less fuel.
