Adherence to post-ATAAD repair imaging studied


Just 14% of patients who underwent acute type A aortic dissection repair had follow-up imaging six months and 12 months after the procedure, according to a study presented at the annual meeting of the Canadian Cardiovascular Society and published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Researchers found several factors that possibly contribute to low adherence to imaging, including location of the patient's home, becoming "kind of orphan patients" and no clear understanding of who is responsible to do the follow-up for them.
