FasterCures offers framework for global pathogen monitoring


The world has the capability to detect emerging pathogens, but surveillance and response must be coordinated globally, and a framework developed by FasterCures, a center of the Milken Institute, recommends building local capacity and establishing a nongovernmental coordinating center to work with governments, existing institutions and the private sector. "The COVID-19 pandemic showed the fault lines of what we thought we were prepared for," says FasterCures Associate Director Carly Gasca.
