Brain implant restores some sight to blind patient

Scientists put an implant in the brain of a woman who lost her sight 16 years ago and restored some of her vision, according to findings reported in The Journal of Clinical Investigation. The woman can see shapes with the help of a special visual prosthesis in conjunction with the implant in her visual cortex.
