Pittsburgh envisions airport for post-pandemic world


A $1.4 billion, 700,000-square-foot terminal project at Pittsburgh International Airport will be the first airport terminal built from the ground up for a post-pandemic world that places great emphasis on renewable energy, air quality and streamlined landside and airside operations. The project could be attractive to prospective workers thanks to a proactive partnership with OSHA, but it could be hampered by a century-old state law that requires the use of a multi-prime contracting approach.
