L.A. County takes action in wake of Surfside tragedy


The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has ordered the county fire department to send representatives to Surfside, Fla., to investigate the deadly partial collapse of a condominium and enact building code changes based on what they learn. Supervisors have also ordered a feasibility study of a permanent building recertification program for aging high-rises as well as a list of older towers in unincorporated L.A. County.
