Crane accidents persist in Texas despite 2019 law


Texas continued to experience fatal crane accidents in 2021, despite a federal law that went into effect in 2019 requiring crane operators to receive certification. The state has experienced 50 crane-related worker deaths between 2011 and 2017, compared to just 16 each in Florida and New York during the same period.
