GCs in Conn. can swap bond when a sub's lien dissolves


The wording of a Connecticut statute allows general contractors to substitute a surety bond in cases where a mechanic's lien placed by a subcontractor is dissolved, an attorney writes. That is because the statute allows for not just the owner, but "any person interested in" real estate upon which a lien is placed, to substitute a bond for a dissolved lien, the attorney writes.
