Nearby construction led to condo collapse, lawsuit alleges


A lawsuit filed this week alleges that the deadly partial collapse of a condominium building in Surfside, Fla., in June occurred after construction on an adjoining site destabilized the building. Champlain Towers "was an older building in need of routine repairs and maintenance," but it was not unsafe until work on the neighboring luxury condominium project was underway, the lawsuit alleges.
