Auburn U. gets $1M for biofuels, bioplastics studies


Auburn University won a $727,677 grant from the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs to fund research on using pyrolysis to produce jet and diesel fuels from wood biomass and waste plastics. Auburn was also awarded a $294,008 grant for an economic feasibility study on a patent-pending biotechnology to convert biogas from organic wastes into bioplastics.
