New calculation suggests megalodon was even bigger


Ancient megalodons were likely about 10% bigger than earlier estimated, thanks to a new calculation formula described in Palaeontologia Electronica. Researchers used tooth width rather than height to estimate the size of the jaw, then calculated the creature's length at about 20 meters.
