Some tetrapods returned to water after living on land


Some tetrapods that had evolved into land creatures around 340 million years ago quickly went back to being water dwellers, a study in PLOS ONE suggests. Researchers examined the backbones of a number of temnospondyl species to chart their evolutionary process and learn how and when they adapted to their habitats.
