Are traditional teaching methods more effective?
More traditional methods for teaching and learning may be more effective, according to a recent study from Sutton Trust and Durham University. Researchers found better performance under teaching methods that focused on using class time efficiently, rewarding effort and establishing clear rules for students' behavior. Students ages 8 and 9 in Sao Joao de Madeira, Portugal, known as the country's shoe capital, are now required to learn Mandarin Chinese so they can one day compete in the Asian footwear market. Australia's literacy, maths exams to be all-digital by 2019
Australia's national literacy and maths exams will be taken only online beginning in 2019 under a recent decision to roll out interactive testing.
